My virtual office was created by a company called doxy.me who wanted to create a private platform for doctors and therapists to have online consultations that were truly secure.
The reason why I have decided to use it is because it works a lot like skype but unlike skype it has peer-to-peer encryption. This means that there is no recorded information, absolutely no way for anyone to trace your information even if the site is hacked!
What’s more, it’s FREE for you the client (as the therapist I can pay for the professional version).
Unlike skype, you don’t have to download anything, when it is time for our therapy session you can just go to the “virtual office” tab on this website and hit the “start a telemedicine call” button.
Once you’ve clicked on the link, it will take you to a virtual waiting room. You will be asked to enter your name and then when it is your scheduled time for our session I will call you and you can answer (just like a skype call). Then we can have a video call where we can see and hear each other securely.
