What makes therapy with me special?

I’m an advocate for change when it’s necessary. I believe that no pattern is too fixed, and that you don’t have to continue living a life that doesn’t support your happiness.

I don’t use a ‘blank slate’ approach in which I sit in silence, or nod along repeating what you have said. Rather I engage with you, sharing my thoughts and insights. I will laugh with you when life is funny and I’ll be here for you when it gets you down. I don’t consider myself the expert on your life, I collaborate with you so that we can figure out your best path together.

I am devoted to your process of healing, and don’t apply a ‘one-size-fits all’ approach. Rather I want to get on the same page as you and work with you as an individual. I use an eclectic approach to therapy relying predominantly on my training in Narrative Therapy; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. This means that I will use the therapeutic approach that I feel will best assist you.

This kind of therapeutic relationship can be rare to find, and powerful to experience. Clients have said that they feel truly heard and understood by me, and because of this they’ve learned more about themselves and their capabilities.
